Services

There are 9 physicians associated with the practice. The center provides services in the following areas: Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Radiology and Urology. Laboratory services (operated by Quest Diagnostics) are also located within the facility. All physicians are board certified.

Office Hours

The medical center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Dermatology, and Ophthalmology ONLY). The office closes for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Appointments are required. Acute and emergency problems are scheduled on the same day, while other appointments are available in one to two days.

Emergency Care

The physicians within the practice provide 24-hour coverage. You may contact your doctor for emergencies after hours by dialing our main telephone number. The On-Call doctor will be contacted by our answering service, and the doctor will contact you.

Hospital Admissions

The physicians have privileges at Virginia Hospital Center – Arlington and/or Inova Fairfax Hospital. Admission to a specific hospital may be limited by your insurance coverage.

Insurance

The physicians participate in most major insurance plans, including One Net PPO, Care First Blue Shield/Care Choice, CIGNA, Aetna, MDIPA/Optimum Choice, Health Keepers (specialists only), Anthem Blue Shield, National Capital PPO, Medicare (all physicians accept assignment), Medicaid, First Health, Private Health Care Systems (PHCS), Unicare, and United Health Care.

It is your responsibility to know the limits of your insurance policy. If you have questions regarding your benefits, please contact your carrier. There are certain services and diagnoses that may not be covered by your plan. Any charges not covered by your insurance carrier must be paid when the carrier’s denial is confirmed. Please do not ask us to change a diagnosis code.

Referrals

3 BUSINESS DAYS NOTICE is required to prepare the referral and mail it to you. Referrals ARE NOT FAXED to specialists. ALL referrals require the physician’s signature. It is your responsibility to obtain your referral in a timely fashion.

Payment For Services

The medical center has its own billing department and the capability to file claims to your insurance company. A current copy of your insurance card needs to be on file in order for us to submit a claim. Deductibles and co-payments for all patients are due and payable prior to your office visit. The billing department is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. to answer any questions you may have and to assist you with your insurance claims. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

Phone Calls (Nursing/Medical)

The nursing staff is available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer your medical questions, renew prescriptions, take referral requests, provide test results, and take messages for the physicians. Please assist us in directing your call by asking for the service you require. The nursing staff will provide injections and blood pressure checks from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Medical Records

Copies of your medical records can be obtained by contacting the medical records department. All requests for records must be in writing and on a Falls Church Medical Center Medical Records Request form. We do not accept any other forms for request of medical records. Medical records are kept for 10 years from the last visit; pediatric records are kept for 31 years from the date of birth. Five working days are required to prepare medical records for transfer. Medical records are not faxed. There is a fee for the duplication of medical records.

Registration

You should arrive 15 minutes before the time of your first appointment to complete the necessary registration forms. Please remember to bring your insurance card so that a copy can be made to be kept on file. Patients with an HMO must present their insurance card at each visit.

Staff (LPN/RN)

The nursing staff is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses. The X-Ray Technician is registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

FTC Notice

The Federal Trade Commission, in an effort to curb IDENTITY THEFT, now requires that we confirm the patient's name, date of birth, address, phone number, and insurance information for each visit. We must have a copy of your current insurance card on file. We will also require a PHOTO ID for all new patients and for those patients presenting a credit card that has not been signed.
